Abstract
The subject of the speech is the marriage between © Umar and Umm-a Kulthoum. The story has been narrated from the most well-known Sunnite books. In this research the hidden aspects of the story and its chains of narrators, their goals, and the way of denotation of each narration have all were carefully studied in depth, the reality of the matter was described, and debates and arguments finished.
If we suppose that Hazrat Fatimah (peace be upon her) has a daughter named Umm-a Kulthoum and believe that marriage in Islam takes place just when marriage formula is read. So considering the small number of hadiths mentioned in al-Kafi, it is concluded that.
© Umar proposed Umm-a Kulthoum, the daughter of Imam Ali. The Imam turned down his proposal and excused that she was a little girl and that she was her cousinوs fiancإe. After
gg© Umarوs numerous frequentations, his final threats against the Commander of the faithful, Ali (peace be upon him) and Bani Hashim, the Imam left that affair to © Abbas, his uncle. So the marriage took place unwillingly and reluctantly.
So upon © Umarوs death, Imam Ali returned his daughter to his house. Therefore, what has been narrated in the Sunnite books from the girlوs dressing up and sending her to © Umar in excuse of presenting a piece of cloth to her death news simultaneously with the death of her child whose father was
© Umar are all baseless and unreal issues.
Consequently, in order to cover up the (unacceptable) behaviors shown by © Umar towards Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) at the time of Hazrat Fatimah (peace be upon her) and olso to claim that there existed sincerity and cordiality between Imam Ali (peace be upon him) and him this story cannot be reasoned and relied on.
